FLR has been the turnkey design-build contractor and site design visionary behind the creation of the John M Craddock Wetland Nature Preserve. The nature preserve is a 27 acre site in east Muncie adjacent to an abandoned industrial area and serves as a key environmental resource for an economically challenged portion of the Muncie Community.

FLR has been the primary grant writer for the project securing funding from many diverse local, sate and federal sources. As contract faculty with Ball State University, FlatLand staff has guided students through both the design development and construction process. FLR will design cultural amenities and interpretive signage to be implemented by 2014
The site demonstrates FLR’s capability to facilitate a project from vision to completion and features many of FLR construction competencies including trail building, boardwalk design and engineering, and architectural design-build.

The site is responsive and partially funded due to it role in the implementation of local masterplans and regional watershed plans.

FLR oversees community education programming and post occupancy evaluation at the site.
