RED-TAIL NATURE PRESERVE
MINNETRISTA CULTURAL CENTER
In 1999, the Red-Tail Conservancy, along with funding from the Ball Brothers Foundation, restored the Red-Tail Nature Preserve.  This land acquisition project linked Prairie Creek Reservoir Park and the Cardinal Greenway, two of Delaware County’s largest wildlife habitats and recreational areas.

This project constructed the nature preserve as a passive outdoor educational facility.  It provided a trail connection to the Cardinal Greenway, a loop trail throughout the site, kiosks providing maps and information about the Preserve, a parking lot for visitors, outdoor amphitheatre, restored prairie and woodland areas, and the potential site for a nature center in the future.

The Red-Tail Nature Preserve provides a vital corridor for flora and fauna, connects people with premier outdoor recreation facilities, and fosters human relationships with the land.
